Trivia Night

This years’ trivia night will be held at the Beaconsfield Community Centre, O’Neil Road, Beaconsfield.

It will be run on Saturday July 10th starting promptly at 8pm (with a finish of approximately 10.30pm).

Each table can hold a maximum of 10 people and the cost of $10 per person guarantees a fun packed – albeit challenging – evening with a wide variety of rounds ensuring we stimulate the grey matter. The PA system is secured & we’ve all the questions and answers set & already on PowerPoint to ensure a smooth running evening!

Nibbles will be provided and we’ll have a stocked bar operating at club prices. PLEASE book a table & bring along team mates, friends & family – Jo and I guarantee you will have a great night!

Book with Rebekah by contacting her on 0419 764 881

PWHA Summer Competition

Casey Shoot Out Cup - Saturday 13th March 2010

The Casey Shoot Out Cup was held on Saturday 13th March 2010. Ten (10) men's and eight (8) women's teams competed in a round Robin competition that was contested in great sporting spirit. A new format using 1/4 sized fields and 20 minute games meant everyone got their money's worht in terms of game time. The weather was kind and the feedback from contestants was very encouraging.

A big thank you to all those who assisted and especially to Rebekah Hodson and Jo Shields for a monumental behind the scenes organising effort. I have copied a thank you note from Rebekah as she said it best:

Just a very quick note to thank each of you for all your amazing help leading up to Saturday and during the day itself. (Jo please pass on to your parents)

In no particular order;

Alan & Lyn – huge thanks for all your work on the bbq and in the canteen

Ian- thanks for all your behind the scenes help

Christine – another last minute ring-in! thank you for allyour help in the Canteen

Michael & Meredith – as always, huge thanks for all your outstanding contributions

Frances – thanks for being so willing to assist

Jason – thanks for setting up/down the PA system, organising and setting up the spit, cooking the meat, carving it and getting up at 6am today to clean & return the spit

Sara – talking of PA systems, thank you so much for the loan – really helped us out

Merrilyn & Trish – thanks for all your hard work on the PA system. I know it got tough at times finding umpires and were largely left alone and you know the day would have fallen apart without us being in your hands! Again both last minute pleas for help so thank you both for such great work!

Ivan & Marinette – Friday morning you had plans for your Saturday. Thank you both SO much for helping out at such short notice

Rowdy – do hope you’ve lived to read this – you were run ragged Saturday! Thank you for all your efforts from early on in the plans for the day through to the day itself – organising the timber, helping set up and then playing and umpiring through out the day. As ever, the Casey would be a poor club without your outstanding efforts

Blake, Rodney, Fiona, Lawrie & Russell – thanks to you all for pulling together your teams. Blake thanks for all the brackets that held the wood together – fantastic! Rodney for all your help during the day as know you were running around off the pitch! Fiona for all your generous raffle gifts – sorry we couldn’t use them Saturday but will definitely come in handy for the next event. Lawrie for all your help setting up – please pass on to the guys who also helped.

Debbie – thank you for being so very patient whilst team numbers/names changed daily then hourly ahead of then going cross-eyed creating the draw. I have no idea how you did it – it looked horrendous so huge thanks for your contribution!

April & Hillary – amazing help during the day just running around doing bits (and for seeing a logical way of keeping the scores) – thanks for keeping me sane at 9am on Saturday if nothing else!!

Jo – thank you…you were amazing from start to finish. Huge thanks for every little piece of assistance that is too long a list to name. For a person who was working, trying to finish a major assignment AND wasn’t even able to play during the day your contributions were outstanding!

Overall a huge success.
