COACHING 2010
A big thank you to all coaches, both senior and junior, for their efforts in 2010. Your role is pivotal in the development of individual players and teams and without you we cannot function. So, for giving your time to undertake what can simultaneously be a challenging and very rewarding job we say thanks.
COACHING 2011
Do you remember your junior coaches? A coach may never know their life long influence on those they train, but the players certainly remember. Coaching is one of the most rewarding jobs in sport and probably the best way to learn more about your own game.
Here is your chance to have a real impact! All coaching roles are now "open" and we are calling on all interested parties to nominate for a coaching role in 2011. Whether you would like to coach a junior or a senior team, please send an expression of interest to Bryce Davis by email at president@caseycannons.com.au. It is our intention to have the majority of positions finalised prior to December 2010 in order to have a smooth start to the 2011 winter season.
SUMMER HOCKEY
Are you interested in playing summer hockey? We do not have final information from Hockey Victoria but we will field teams based on player interest.
We have also approached Hockey Victoria to host an U13 and U15 mixed summer competition at Casey. We are awaiting approval, but would like expressions of interest from interested junior players.

RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL
Casey Hockey Club has now achieved Level 2, Good Sports Accreditation. This means that we agree to serve alcohol responsibly and not to provide alcohol at junior events.
We are also required to have alcohol served by persons holding a RSA Certificate. A number of members (including myself) have attended the training and found it to be very useful, not only from a club perspective. The courses can cost up to $100 at TAFE but the club is offering to pay the cost of attending for those members interested in attending. Obviously we would like you to assist in the canteen from time to time.
Completing the course can assist the attendee to gain employment in the hospitality industry, so it is a great opportunity personally and can help the club as well.

We currently need more players in the womens, mens and veterans squads. Experience is not a factor and it's never too late to learn. So if you know someone who wants to do something to keep fit, why not introduce them to the club.
